From cats to dogs, cows to chickens, hedgehogs to lobsters and yes, even snails, every kind of animal should experience a rich emotional life. Animals can feel it all… if we let them.
Because sadly, many animals don’t even get to live like animals in the UK right now, living instead in neglectful and unfair conditions. From intensive farming taking place behind closed doors, abusive use of some animals in sport and entertainment, extreme breeding, to the ‘cute’ images of objectified animals that we mindlessly share on social media, we often don’t realise that we are unintentionally funding, fuelling or furthering animals’ suffering.
There are cows who are kept indoors 24/7. There’s one billion chickens bred each year for meat, reared in bare, dimly lit and overcrowded conditions. Pigs who’ve only ever seen concrete. Pet rabbits who’ve never seen another rabbit. The list goes on.
So, we are shining a light on the joy of animals when they are allowed to really live their best lives, happy and fulfilled, and full of emotions and experiences. We want everyone to rethink their relationship with all animals – and realise that every one of them deserves all our kindness… and R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
