Since 2006, OakOak has used streets, walls, sidewalks and roads as his playground .
Originally from Saint Etienne, he sticks his drawings in each of the places he passes through in order to bring a smile to the pedestrian’s face at the corner of a street where they don’t expect it. His approach consists of diverting urban elements, having fun with defects that at first glance seem of no particular interest, like the cracks in a wall.

He thus adds his own vision, his own references. A way of imagining urban space in a more poetic way. His work has been the subject of several publications by Edition Populaire (2011) and Omaké Books (2014 and 2016). A new book is in preparation for the end of 2023. “Oakoak transforms and dresses the elements of everyday life that we come across and ignore. Another world, where the men on the pedestrian crossings play acrobats, where fire hydrants make faces and where ninja turtles come out of the sewers.”
