“Times can change. The Estonian spirit does not.” In Born From Culture, Tallinn University’s folk dance ensemble Soveldaja performs traditional Estonian folk dance to Future’s “Mask Off”, featuring Ernst Valdmaa on diatonic Estonian accordion. The result is a striking clash of heritage and hip-hop that shows how some things just run in the blood. Choreography by Elo Unt, cinematography and editing by Kevin Kohjus, based on an original concept by James M. Fenwick.
