In the fall of 2011, NightSUP™ technology emerged from Cape Ann SUP a lifeguard/surfer team needing a safer and more effective way to rent their paddleboard fleet after dark. With LED lighting custom molded into the rails, their paddlebaords were now equipped with a 40′ diameter beacon of light radiating around its perimeter. This hydro-dynamic design is a permanent installation to existing paddleboards which has no straps or exposed parts. What started as a technology for safer paddling at night has turned into an incredible and beautiful way to view nature.
Fish and wildlife which are not normally visible in the daytime are easy to see and observe when using illuminated paddleboards.
