Background
Every year Spain suffers from around 200 fires. In 2015, almost 40% of the north of the country was burnt. Fire prevention methods haven’t changed in 40 years, so when there is a fire it’s often impossible to reach it in time to put it out. If this situation continues, almost all the forests in the north of Spain could disappear in a period of 15 years, and some of the native species.

Idea
We created Birdhouse Alarm. The first birdhouse that detects fire in real time and sends a geographic location signal to fire-fighters so as they can put it out.
The house detects smoke from a possible fire, sends a geolocated message to the Forest Fire Department, then a brigade is sent to the location to extinguish the fire.
A new way to detect forest fires early, and act on time.
