Knit Hello is a typeface for hand knitting. It is the outcome of a series of Typographic Knitting –or Typeknitting– Workshops at craft festivals and museums, like Swiss Yarn Festival, Berlin Letters, Museum für Gestaltung and Letterform Archive. Based on slipstitches and a simple letterform grid,
Knit Hello offers a simple, frustration-free process for beginners, without floats and getting entangled.

Typeknitting is a project by Rüdiger Schlömer, graphic designer, curious knitter and author of the book Typographic Knitting (Pixel, Patch und Pattern). It explores the typographic potential of hand knitting techniques like Fair Isle, Slipstitch, Mosaic, and Patchwork Knitting. As a dialogue between digital typography / type design and the analog craft of knitting, this results in patterns, posters and typefaces.
